Find Union County Traffic Court Records

Start with the court named on the citation, because that is where the case lives. Union County traffic court records show which court took the ticket, when the case is set, and what happened after the driver responded. Most traffic matters in Union County go through the municipal court route in Marysville. Tickets issued in Dublin can follow a different path through the Mayor's Court. The big question on any ticket is simple: can it be resolved by paying, or does it need a court response? The answer shapes both the record and the deadline.

Traffic Case Records in Union County

Marysville Municipal Court handles countywide municipal traffic cases under ORC 1901.02. Its traffic records sit with the court and its clerk. They are not in the Common Pleas eServices path. Visit the court at 1250 W. Fifth Street in Marysville. Or call the clerk at 937-644-9102 during weekday hours. For a public record and calendar search, the court uses CaseLook. The citation itself still comes first for the original charge and the response date.

Dublin-issued tickets are different. Those can go through Dublin Mayor's Court instead. This includes matters from the Union County portion of Dublin. Smaller Union County municipalities lacking their own portal send judicial cases to Marysville. They do not go to village hall. Always let the issuing authority and court name on the citation drive the docket search.

The Ohio municipal-court jurisdiction statute names Marysville as the countywide venue.

Marysville CaseLook Traffic Records

Marysville CaseLook opens the public portal for traffic, criminal, civil, and small-claims court records. The first screen asks for agreement. It also warns about timing. Filings and court action can take 24 hours or longer to post. Use the portal to find a case or calendar entry. For verified information, the court directs a written request or an in-person visit. When a record has not yet posted, a phone call, counter visit, or mail request to the clerk may still be needed.

One ticket can spawn several letter-suffixed cases. The city points to TRD10000001A, TRD10000001B, and TRD10000001C as its example. Check each linked case, since one result may not cover every charge on the citation. CaseLook is a court-record lookup. It is not a stand-in for the response date printed on an unposted ticket.

Union County Traffic Ticket Lookups

Pick the issuing court before anything else. At Marysville, search CaseLook with one item at a time. Use whichever you have: citation number, name, hearing date, file date, ticket number, or birth date. The portal starts with every case type selected. So tick the Traffic box to narrow results. A brand-new citation may not appear online yet. If the search comes up empty, call Marysville Municipal Court or stop at the counter. Do not treat no match as the final answer.

  1. Read the court name, citation number, charge, and date from the ticket. A Dublin court name calls for the Dublin path, not Marysville CaseLook.
  2. For a Marysville citation, accept CaseLook's notice and enter one available search item. Select Traffic when a broader result set needs narrowing.
  3. Review any separate letter-suffixed results and note the case number, scheduled date, charge, and status.
  4. Use Calendar Search for a daily docket, or call 937-644-9102 and visit the counter if the case is absent, needs verification, or is not yet posted.
  5. For a verified copy or a record not available online, make a written request, mail a request, or ask the clerk in person.

Traffic Court Dates in Union County

The citation carries the first response date. For anything after that, Marysville's Calendar Search is the official daily-docket route. It requires a Beginning Date. A case search can confirm a later setting, though posting can lag and matters do get continued. So check close to the date. When a question remains open, the clerk's office, the counter, or a written-record request beats a search result.

A not-guilty plea must reach the Marysville Clerk by 4 p.m. on the business day before the citation date. That plea earns a later trial setting. The court may grant one one-week continuance of an initial appearance or citation date if requested by 4 p.m. on the prior business day. A request alone is not a changed date. Wait for the court to confirm it.

Marysville Traffic Payments and Guilty Pleas

The Marysville payment lookup does one narrow job. A last name is required. A first name can narrow results, and payment must be in full before the date and time on the citation. Paying this way is a guilty plea. It waives an appearance and a trial. It closes the case and goes to the BMV with any applicable points. It will not show every case detail, and it cannot resolve a mandatory-appearance charge.

Some charges cannot use the waiver route. The court's own examples include OVI, leaving the scene, certain driving-under-suspension or no-license matters, serious speed, school-bus passing, reckless operation, fleeing, and drag racing. If the ticket requires an appearance, follow the citation. Call the court instead of paying online.

The court's payment page shows the surname-based lookup used before a payable item is reviewed.

The lookup handles payment of eligible items only. For record and court-date questions, CaseLook and the clerk are the right routes.

Paying a Ticket vs Fighting It

A Marysville ticket you can pay leaves you two choices. Pay it in full and on time. The court treats that as a guilty plea and waiver. Or fight it. A not-guilty plea must reach the clerk by 4 p.m. on the business day before the citation date. The court then schedules a trial for a later day. One caution applies either way: if the citation requires a mandatory appearance, neither path removes that duty.

Missed date or payment: Marysville directs a person who missed a court date to appear in person. A warrant, license forfeiture, or registration block may exist. ORC 4510.22 permits forfeiture reporting after 30 days, and the BMV lists a warrant-block fee; contact the court for the current case status before acting.

Union County Traffic Response Deadlines

Deadlines for a Marysville waiver item are strict. Payment in full is due by the exact date and time printed on the citation. A not-guilty plea must arrive earlier. That deadline is 4 p.m. on the business day before the citation date. Need more time? The court will grant one one-week continuance of an initial appearance or citation date. Ask by 4 p.m. on the prior business day. Keep in mind these rules belong to this court alone. A Dublin citation should follow Dublin Mayor's Court instructions instead.

Two Records: Court File and Driver File

Two different records sit behind any traffic case. One is the court file. The clerk holds it, covering the citation and the judicial case itself. It can show the charge, the plea, docket activity, a setting, the judgment, payments, warrants, and continuances. The other is the Ohio BMV driver file. The BMV keeps the state record of reportable convictions, accidents, suspensions, revocations, and disqualifications. A Marysville CaseLook result is not a BMV record. Finding nothing in a court search tells you nothing about what the BMV holds.

For a citation's court date or docket history, the court file is the place to look. The separate BMV record does not replace the traffic court record behind the citation.

Dublin Traffic Records in Union County

Dublin Mayor's Court runs its own traffic-record route. It covers Dublin-issued matters, including cases arising in the Union County portion of Dublin. The Justice Center sits at 6565 Commerce Parkway, Dublin, and the court line is 614-410-4920. The public can search by party name, case number, or filing-date range through the Dublin IJS Case Explorer. Docket entries, parties, judgments, and charges all appear. Dublin's nCourt payment lookup works from a citation or case number. If the citation begins with a zero, enter only the final 12 digits. Some citations start with S or L. Parking may carry a D prefix. Give the system one to three days after issuance. An outstanding mandatory appearance blocks online and phone payment of all citations. Dublin spans three counties. Read the citation location and the named court with care.

Traffic Record Copy Fees

Marysville Municipal Court posts no fee. That covers a plain or certified copy of a traffic case. Ask the issuing court's clerk for the current copy and certification quote. The court does publish selected waiver totals for eligible Marysville citations. Those are payment totals, though, not charges for copies of court records. Late payment adds $25.

Use a payment amount only after confirming the citation is eligible and payable. For a Dublin citation, follow the Mayor's Court instructions and fee rules rather than Marysville's waiver table.

Marysville Traffic Safety Diversion

Marysville runs a Traffic Safety Diversion Program. It works differently from paying a traffic ticket online or by phone. The program fee is $143. You can pay it by mail, at the counter, or in the drop box. It must arrive by 4 p.m. on your court date. Eligibility is fairly narrow. A driver generally must have had insurance at the time of the offense. The driver cannot hold a commercial driver license. The record must show no moving violation in the past 365 days and no prior TSDP within two years. The charge also has to be for no more than 20 mph over the limit.

Once you are in, an approved course certificate is due within 30 days. Finish on time and the case is dismissed. No report goes to the BMV. Miss that deadline and the ticket converts to a guilty plea by waiver. The BMV will hear about it. Those limits are what set diversion apart from just paying the citation.

The city's program information spells out this Marysville court alternative. It covers how to apply and when the application deadline falls.
