How the Union County Court Calendar Works
Common Pleas works from a rolling Daily Court Schedule PDF. The court's official schedule page posts the current copy. Treat it as a date list; there is no interactive calendar here. Marysville Municipal Court, Probate, and Juvenile each take a different route. Someone who checks the wrong court may see no date at all. The case can still be very much alive.
For a Common Pleas event, one schedule line gathers the date, judicial officer, and time. The same line adds the case number, caption, and setting label. Multi-day settings get marked too. The schedule cannot give you the full case file. It offers no result and no log of every change along the way. Use it to spot the current setting. Then confirm through the record or the office that holds the case.
Note: The Daily Court Schedule is a public scheduling aid. The official case file and any certified document remain with the appropriate clerk.
Union County Daily Schedule PDF
The schedule is a plain PDF. No filters, no login, no calendar controls. Check the schedule date first, then match the case number and the setting label. A caption alone can mislead, since names run alike. The schedule shows a hearing date; it does not show the filings, orders, or other documents that explain why the matter is in court.
Labels span criminal, civil, domestic, and specialty-program settings. Union County examples include arraignment, pretrial, plea, sentencing, jury trial, bench trial, status conference, motion hearing, settlement conference, dissolution, divorce, and Recovery Court. A label names the type of event. It says nothing about how the case ends.
Know the PDF's limits too. It carries no documents, no financial detail, no disposition fields, and no redaction notes. A line can point to the next event, but not to every earlier filing or later entry in the court docket. Multi-day designations appear now and then. When a detail is missing, run an eligible docket search or call the office that keeps the case.
Union County Court Date Lookups
Begin with the court that has jurisdiction. The search path differs by court. A Common Pleas felony or civil matter takes one route, a municipal traffic or small-claims case takes another, and a Probate or Juvenile matter takes a third. Keep the case number, full name, and last known setting close at hand. Those details let court staff pull the right calendar fast. Staff will not have to guess from a partial story.
- Check the Common Pleas Daily Court Schedule for a current listed setting and compare the date, time, number, officer, and setting label.
- Use Union County eServices for a remotely available Common Pleas record, then read the docket for a later setting or filing.
- For a Common Pleas date that is unclear or absent, call the court at 937-645-3015, the Clerk Legal Office at 937-645-3006, or Court Administration at 937-645-3169.
- For a Marysville Municipal Court matter, use Calendar Search in CaseLook or call the municipal clerk at 937-644-9102.
- For Probate or Juvenile, contact the Probate desk at extension 3405 or the Juvenile desk at extension 3411 because remote availability can be limited.
- If the online routes do not resolve the date, use the proper counter or submit a records request to the custodian rather than treating an empty result as a cancellation.
Union County Calendar Search Paths
Marysville Municipal Court does not appear on the Common Pleas Daily Court Schedule. Its own CaseLook system offers a Calendar Search. The municipal search requires a Beginning Date. The Ending Date and other criteria are optional. Use this route for municipal traffic, misdemeanor, small-claims, and municipal civil cases. It is not a stand-in for the Common Pleas court docket.
| Calendar route | Best use | Limit to remember |
|---|---|---|
| Common Pleas Daily Court Schedule | Current Common Pleas setting | PDF only; no public search controls |
| eServices Public Records Search | Eligible Common Pleas record and docket context | Updates on a 72-hour cycle; sensitive documents stay office-only |
| Marysville CaseLook Calendar Search | Municipal calendar by beginning date | Separate system; postings can lag at least 24 hours |
Marysville Municipal Court CaseLook is the entry point to the municipal court's separate record and calendar system, where the Calendar Search lives.
That separate entry screen is worth a pause. Identify the court first, then hunt for a Union County hearing date.
Court Settings: What Each Field Means
A schedule line packs a lot into a small space, so every field counts. The Union County Daily Court Schedule names an officer rather than promising a set courtroom. It shows a caption or style as well. A private caption should not be copied around as a way to tag a case. Match several fields before you treat a line as your setting. The case number matters most.
| Date | The calendar date assigned to the listed court event. |
|---|---|
| Time | The time printed for the setting; confirm it close to the event if a change is possible. |
| Courtroom | Not supplied as a visible field on the Daily Court Schedule PDF; ask the proper court office when location is needed. |
| Judicial officer | The judge or magistrate named on the schedule line. |
| Case number | The Union County identifier used to distinguish a matter from a similar caption or style. |
| Setting type | The event label, such as pretrial, motion hearing, plea, or trial. |
Union County Court Setting Terms
Read calendar labels as scheduling terms, not as a case summary. A few Union County labels carry a local rule or docket meaning. That meaning helps explain what happens next. The terms describe the setting alone. They reveal no evidence, no ruling, and no final result in the file.
- Arraignment
- A criminal setting for the accusation and plea procedure.
- Pretrial
- A case-management conference before trial; contested matters generally receive pretrial conferences locally.
- Status conference
- A progress conference that may be scheduled in any action and may occur by telephone.
- Motion hearing
- A hearing on a request for court action that has been filed in the case.
- IIL
- Intervention in lieu of conviction, the meaning of the IIL Plea and IIL Violation labels used in Union County.
When a Court Date Moves
Wanting a new date is not the same as having one. In Union County, a continuance under Common Pleas Local Rule 18.05 must be requested by written motion. Copy the motion right away to the Assignment Commissioner or Domestic Bailiff. The motion must state why the delay is needed. It must also cover whether the other side consented and any earlier continuances in the case. Until a judge or magistrate signs off, the hearing stays where it was noticed.
A granted continuance shifts one job to the requester. Get the new date and give prompt notice. Trial-assignment conflicts usually demand a motion at least 14 days ahead of trial. Probate works on a written motion too. That practice does not carry over to Marysville Municipal Court. Whatever the division, trust only the newest docket entry. Then confirm with the office holding the case.
Note: A setting can be continued, restricted, or simply not posted yet. Check the schedule close to the event. That beats any older copy.
Union County Schedule Confirmation
Sometimes the PDF and the case record leave the question open. Then it is time to call. Common Pleas and Court Administration handle General and Domestic Relations settings, while the Clerk Legal Office can sort out a Common Pleas record question. Probate and Juvenile each keep their own clerk desks. Marysville Municipal Court dates rest with municipal staff.
Quick check: Give the court office the case number, the date you saw, and the type of setting, then ask whether that setting remains on the current calendar.
Marysville's Record Search instructions lay out Calendar Search as the municipal daily-docket route and walk through its separate case-search tools.
That municipal route helps separate a Marysville setting from a Union County Common Pleas schedule entry.
Missed Settings and What Comes Next
A missed setting calls for fast action. Contact the court or clerk holding the case. Give the case number if you have it. Ask whether a new setting, an order, or anything else has been entered. A party's attorney is another good source of notice and case-specific advice. A phone call can point you to the next step. It cannot undo the missed appearance or stand in for an order.
Missed a setting? Do not assume that a request for a new date has changed the status of a Union County case.
Contact the correct court office without delay, verify the current docket and schedule, and obtain legal advice for the particular matter when needed.
Union County Schedule Search Limits
The Daily Court Schedule offers no interactive search form. For a remotely available Common Pleas record, eServices makes a sensible second check. Its public-record notice warns that documents update on a 72-hour cycle. It also warns that sensitive papers stay in the Legal Office. CaseLook posts its own caution. Filings or judicial action can take at least 24 hours or longer to appear. When a hearing is close, timing matters more than anything.
An empty online result does not mean a Union County setting vanished. Some Probate records are searchable through the portal only for filings on or after June 1, 2019. Certain Probate and Juvenile case types are not available remotely at all. A saved PDF can also predate a new entry, so check its version date. Work the fallback chain: the schedule, eServices, Common Pleas or Clerk contact, the Marysville calendar or clerk, the Probate or Juvenile desk, then the counter or a records request.
